Achieving Flawless Resin Prints In Chilling Conditions
Printing with a resin printer in a cold room is incredibly challenging because when the resin is cold, there is a big chance your print will fail. Some expensive resin printers have a heated resin vat, but you won't find that in a lower end resin printer, as mostly used by hobbyists. In that case, a mini heater can be the solution. Watch this review and you will see why.

▼ The Ender 2 printing NGEN FLEX material

This is just a little channel update. I am now printing NGEN FLEX filament on the Creality Ender 2 printer and I have also been testing it with PLA and PETG. The printer seems to handle all the filaments without any problem and the print quality is decent. I just have to play around with the settings like the retraction and that kind of things, but basically it looks a lot like the settings for...

    how about the smallest object that the scanner can scan the object?

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 7 дней назад

      That's not easy to answer. When the small parts is part of a bigger structure, for example, a turntable with markers, then a 4x4x4 cm object can be scanned, but this is not a scanner for small objects. The Scan Otter might be a better choice for you if that's what you want to scan.

      Dit is een heel algemene vraag, en daarom niet echt te beantwoorden. Wat bedoel je met afstellen? Er zijn van Algolaser materiaal tabellen waarin je globaal kunt zien welke instellingen je moet gebruiken voor bepaalde materialen. Ook hebben ze een fantastische Facebook community waarin ook vertegenwoordigers van Algolaser zelf zitten. Die kunnen je absoluut helpen als je andere vragen hebt.

    A question... I'm currently looking at a used (but hardly used) one of these, with some filament, for 1600SEK and close so able to just collect it. I have NEVER used a 3D-printer before, ZERO experience with CAD, no history in engineering wse... Would this be a good place to start with 3D-printing (and at that price)?

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 11 дней назад

      1600 SEK would be about 140 Euro. For that price you would get a very good printer that would be a great starting point to start your experience with 3D printing. Now, you have to know I love 3D printing with Artillery printers, and I for sure think these printers are much better than the Creality alternatives, but there is one good thing about the Ender series of printers and that is that you will find much more videos on RUclips about them. So, for a starter, a Creality printer might be a better introduction to 3D printing, although the machine is for sure less good than the Artillery machines. Now, if you are really willing to learn about 3D printing, then go for it. The Artillery machines are that good that I still (after 4 years) use them daily. The only things i have repaired on them are new nozzles and a new screen on my sidewinder X1, because I touched it just a little too hard and broke it.

    If its only one direction could be the belts. Most always cheaper stepper motors. Stay away from those red colored ones if possible. In CNCs there are issues of too much current in wires affecting other wires. You actually need to shield those wires with electrical covers.

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 25 дней назад

      I understand what you are saying, but as you can see, it's not only one direction. Also, as I stated in the video, the issue is solved and it had nothing to do with the stepper motors. It were the cheap stepperdriver clones the used on the 4.2.2 motherboeard that were to blame. after replacing the motherboard for a 4.2.7 version (with the good stepper trinamic stepperdrivers) the issue was gone.

    • @360_tours
      @360_tours 24 дня назад

      @@3dPrintCreator sorry meant to say stepper driver. For others, that have had a machine for a while and then it skips. Start with the belt then check the a4988 chips. I think sometimes they can get too hot. The cheap Chinese knock offs are not good (red ones). Either get new ones or call the company.

    Wat zou het verschil zijn tussen de 5 en 10 watt? Ik wil het gebruiken voor snijden

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator Месяц назад

      Dat is moeilijk te zeggen. Het is in elk geval niet zo dat je 2x zo diep kunt snijden, denk eerder aan een millimeter extra diep, o.i.d. Hoe meer vermogen een diode laser heeft, hoe groter de projectie wordt qua oppervlak, en hoe groter de projectie, hoe minder geconcentreerd het licht word omgezet in warmte, en dus snijkracht. Ik weet echter van deze fabrikant niet hoe goed (effectief) hun 10 Watt lasers zijn, dus een heel specifieke uitspraak durf ik hierover niet te doen.

  • @SianaGearz

    I wonder. These people who say to use oilers, have generally used oilers before, then ran into issues, and found that the oiler helps them... by all reason they never cleared the previous oil residue or other surface residue out of the system. I mean nozzles are disposable, then you have the throat, you would need to repolish the inner surface if it's a stainless or titanium one, or replace the PTFE insert if it's lined, wash the couplings and bowden tube in dish soap, wash the extruder components... to have a chance at a clean (haha) experiment... any bets on where the issue possibly originally came from? Once oil is on a surface it generally never quite goes away completely, it just degrades to where it becomes sticky garbage.

    Wow, this is so great! So easy to do and safe on its own. We’re about to get a laser cutter for our makerspace, and one concern we’ve had is about people cutting PVC or anything else with chlorine in it, especially inadvertently (some kind of “mystery plastic”) This is so easy to do and such a decisive indication that it’ll let us relax a lot about the issue!

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator Месяц назад

      Hi, thanks for your reply. The answer to your reply is Yes..... And No. The risk of having Chlorine gas in your machine (and in your makerspace if that's not well ventilated), is a very big one, but it's not the only risk there is. There are so many other chemicals that can form a risk in your shop, like for example Styrene, found in ABS, ASA and many other plastics (and even some wood glue). This is less of a problem in the machine as it doesn't kill your harrdware, but you don't want the Styrene in the air you are breathing. Good air filtration and circulation is therefore very important. In my shop, the use of own materials in my machines is prohibited unless it's absolutely sure (and checked by myself) that the used materials are not a risk.

    • @DaveEtchells
      @DaveEtchells Месяц назад

      @@3dPrintCreator Thanks for those further tips! In a mixed blessing, a massive flood (broken pipe) provided the impetus and some of the funding to completely remodel our main workspace. Part of the redesign is what we’re calling the “fume room”, which has no HVAC return to the rest of the system and an exhaust fan to the outside that we can run to individual machines. (This is also the room where we’ll be running the smelly resin printers and wash/cure stations.) So we should be well set up to keep noxious fumes out of the air and away from people’s lungs 😁 Good to know about the risks of styrene as well, besides just PVC. Thanks again for the great tips!

      There is no answer to this question. Yes, there are white synthetic fabrics that can be cut. Does this mean avery white sysnthetic fabric can be cut? No. How thick is the fabric? How reflective is it? What is the melting temperature? Etc. Etc. You wioll have to test this for every specific fabric.

    I wondered about the clicking speed. However, upon examination I realized there was metal over the cleaning box. lol. While the head was attempting to clean itself, I thought it was breaking itself. But that was on a 1.0 that I have just aquired.

    Thanks for this video. I've had this printer for many years and have never had a clog that I couldn't clear while the print head was in the machine. I wasn't so lucky this time. Your video gave me enough information and visual guidance to be able to pull the whole hot end out of the machine and clear the clog that occurred as one roll of filament ended and the next one tried to feed in behind it. I had a piece of the old filament stuck in the insulating tube just above the print head. Many thanks, as I'm printing again.

    I had those sudden step skips since yesterday. E3V2 just mad a loud hardware crashing noise in the middle of a print every now and when. Then the printing just stopped in the middle of the print with an error-message like "Your print was interrupted...". I've got a 4.2.2 mainboard. But it turns out that: 1) Mainboard's fan had its connector losen out of the jack - so the board and drivers were not cooled anymore and the board did reset in the middle of a heavy print. 2) the stepper driver's bias voltage was very low on Y-axis (0.9V) and low on others (1.1V). I cranked all axes to 1.3V - now lets see how it goes. Might have been the same issue with your printer: all the vibrations might slightly changing the bias adjusting resistors or losen a fan cable. Another issue: the boards fan is only on if the heat bed is set to high temp, otherwise not. A RUclipsr connected the main board fan to permanent 24V. Will report if this did fix the issue later.

    Thanks for posting about this product. How do you feel its effectiveness is versus a thermal vat band? I print with high wax content resin and my resin staying at or above 26C/80F. Should I give this a try over another vat band?

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 4 месяца назад

      I have no experience with VAT heaters at all, so a comparison is not something I can make. Yet I do know that I never had a failed print anymore after using this heater.

      @@3dPrintCreator I'll let you know. I decided to give this product a try. I currently use a thermal vat band on a large format machine. I'm going to try this heater on an Anycubic Photon D2. I print with high wax content resin and vat temp of 80F is very important.

    Good review. Can the z-axis move during engraving to adjust for curved surface? I would like to engrave 12mm (1/2") high text on 25 mm (1") diameter round dowel. I don't know if the variable depth will cause poor resolution in that range.

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 4 месяца назад

      Yes and no. Yes, the machine can do it. But I don't think the lightburn software is able to do this, so you would have to generate your own personal g-Code.

    I watched this video and got the SE as I will only be using my computer and I have found does have a larger min operating range vs the othjer two scanners. 50x50x50 vs 150x150x150

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 5 месяцев назад

      There is no difference in the operating distance among the models. In fact, there is no difference at all, except for the accessories you receive in the box you bought.

      @@3dPrintCreator Are you 100% sure about this? Its specified multiple times that apparently the min scan area is 150x..mm for the SE and 50x..mm for the other 2. Would this only be the assumed added mobility it gives? I ordered a SE but am somewhat second guessing myself now

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 4 месяца назад

      @@LAKXx If you have Facebook, search for: Creality 3D Scanner Official Group There you will find some Creality Officials that can confirm you there is NO hardware difference between the scanners, except for the accessories you get. In there you can look for the post about the Ferret SE made on the 6th of December, and in that post there is a debate about differences and Creality confirms that there is no hardware difference at all. However, there is a FIRMWARE difference between the Ferret Pro and the other two models, because only the Pro has the WiFi capability added to the firmware. I have both the Pro and the normal Ferret, and you can swap firmware if you like without a problem.

    Awesome tipes. I learned some time ago that power failure hammers your SD and wears out the cells, a better SD will also have better write endurance 😉 I learned its just better investing in a battery backup 😅 especially because most the time the print fails, the bed cools and you effectively loose the print If you still have an old 8-bit board and you get hard pauses caused by buffer underrun you can run the printer steight off a PC. Effectively "klipperizing" it. My old wooden Replicator can print at up to 180mm/s 😮 but only 45-65mm/s off the SD card 😢 unless i lower print step resolution

    • @3dPrintCreator
      @3dPrintCreator 5 месяцев назад

      Yes and No, this is totally true for some types of printbed. However the Glass with dots beds I have on most my old printers, don't release the print even when cooled down. I have to use a scraper to get the print of the bed, and then the power fail function could be helpfull. These glass beds on old printers are in fact very good, as you can stop heating your bed after the 3rd layer, saving on energy costs. This also makes it possible to tun more printers on only 1 breaker. Here in the Netherlands, where I live, a power outage almost never happens. Therefore, I am not doing any counter measures to prevent a failed print. I have the power failure function on almost all my printers turned off.
